EL SHADDAI HERITAGE AUGUST 2023 EDITION

You are welcome to the Month of August Edition of El Shaddai Heritage

Our focus for the month of August is, CONSECRATION.

Introduction

The word “consecration” according to Webster Merriam dictionary is an act of ceremonial sanctification or a state of being consecrated. Biblically, consecration means to be set apart, separated and made hallowed for holy use. It could also be described as the act of keeping oneself from unholy, unrighteous, and unclean acts for the purpose of being used by God; the purpose of consecration is to make us Holy and fit for service. On different occasions, God demanded from His people (Exodus 19;6 … and ye shall be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation), the Israelites, the priests, and Levites, in the old testament that they should consecrate themselves before they could minister to  Him. Furthermore, we also have instances in the bible where definite steps were taken by individuals to stand out for God and refuse to  be defiled as the case was with Daniel in Daniel 1:8

In the same vein, in this dispensation of grace, through our Lord Jesus Christ, God’s standard has not changed and will never change for anyone who is a Christian/disciple and enlisted to minister in His vineyard. Moreso that we believers are being referred to as a “ Royal Priesthood…” in 1 Peter 2:9. Any service rendered to God MUST come from a human vessel that has been consecrated/ sanctified.

Let me mention that the words “consecration” and “sanctification” are used interchangeably in the Holy Scriptures to mean the same thing. In Leviticus 20: 7 God said to his people” Sanctify yourself therefore and be ye holy , for I am the LORD your God”.

In light of the above, consecration can be both external and internal. In the old testament, the emphasis on external appearance to depict consecration was intended to distinguish the Priests from others, the bible says that everything we read in the old testament is a shadow of things to come. For example, in Exodus chapter 28:3 God instructed Moses “And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garment to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office …”. They were also to be consecrated by the pouring of the anointing oil, eating of consecrated food, and keeping of other laws Exodus 28:41 and 29:9, 29 & 33

 However, in the new testament and dispensation of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, it is more of the internal or inner consecration of the heart, in other words, it starts from inside to outside.  Our Lord Jesus Christ explained to his disciple that it is not what goes inside that defiles or makes a man unclean, but what becomes from with within…;

Examples of instances or cases that God demanded consecration

  1.  Samson other and Samuel- Judges 13:2-5… And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shall conceive, and bear a son, 4) now, therefore, beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing; … and he(Samson) shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines
  2. Moses demanded that the people of God be consecrated as instructed by God in Exodus 32:29

Consecration in the dispensation of grace through our Lord Jesus Christ

Read the following scriptures:

Matthew 5:11-18 “ Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man”… ,

Romans 13:14’ But clothe yourself with the lord Jesus Christ (The messiah), and make no provisions for(indulging) the flesh ( put a stop to thinking about the evil craving …)

The following are steps, attitudes, and conduct of persons who have received the call unto salvation and service of the lord;

  1. The new birth experience of being born again is the very first crucial step to entering into consecration because a new heart is given to us at this point. Read Ezekiel 36:26 “A new heart also will I give you , and a new spirit will I put within you…” Ezekiel 11:19  John 3:16, Isaiah
  2. Put to death the old man that has been crucified and purge ourselves of the works of the sinful nature to make us useful vessels in God’s hand, Galatians 2:20
  3.  Separation from the world and its way of doing things, 2 Corinthians 6:17 “ wherefore come out from among them , and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you”
  4. Renewal of our mind through the consistent fellowship with the word of God,  Romans 12-1-2, Ephesians 5:26, 1 John 1: 1-3
  5. Being filled with the Holy Spirit Ephesians 5:18, Acts 9:17
  6. Obedience to God’s commandments is key to the consecration of any human vessel that God would use.

Consequences of rendering service without consecration

Whatever service is rendered unto God from a life that is not consistently consecrated or sanctified is unacceptable and making heaven is bleak. 2 Corinthians 6:17

Conclusion: Considering the above scriptures, whatever category you belong to in the mandate of this Mission; widows, orphans and less privileged, or ministers in his vineyard, the consecration of your life is not optional.

EL SHADDAI HERITAGE JANUARY 2023

Happy New Year!
You are welcome to the January 2023 edition of El Shhadai Heritage!

I hope your holiday was restful and full of festivities. The Lord that brought you into year 2023 will protect and defend you all throughout the year and open His good treasure unto you in Jesus name!

God is a good God. He said in His Word that He will never leave or forsake you. God has not changed and He will never change. His Words are yeah and Amen!

Our Focus for January 2023 is Thanksgiving!

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalms 100: 4-5

In Psalms 24 verses 1, we are made to understand that the earth and the fullness thereof belong to God.

God is the one that rounds off the year, He brings each year to a close.
Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.
Psalms 65:11

In the book of Revelation, we understand that God almighty is the beginning and the end, He is the first and the last

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”
Revelation 22:13

So, God is the one that opens the year and brings it to an end.

We are therefore privileged to be a partaker and to be alive in this new year.
We owe God thanks for His unfailing love and mercy over our lives.
Irrespective of the negative situation you went through last year, God did not abandon you nor has He forgotten you.

In the book of Ecclesiastics, we are made to understand that there is a time and a season to everything under heaven.

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecclesiastics 3:1

There is nothing you need in this world that God has not made provision for but there is a time allocated for the manifestation of that blessing.

While you are waiting for your expectation to manifest, God expects you to give Him thanks.

In the book of Proverbs, the Bible says,
For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.
Proverbs 28:18

The truth is, as long as you remain committed to Jesus Christ, obeying him, the enemy can not have the final say over your life, it’s impossible.

The Bible makes us understand that with the help of the Holy Spirit, we will always overcome any challenge that comes our way.

“So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.”
Isaiah 59:19

You might be going through a situation that you do not understand but I encourage you to see the larger picture through the eyes of Jesus.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews chapter 12 verse 2

Look at the case of Ruth in the Bible.
Friends, family members, and acquaintances must have mocked her, people might have said negative and unpleasant things about her. Her entrance into her husband’s family brought doom and disaster to that once-happy family.
It was after her marriage that her father-in-law died, subsequently, her husband died and his only brother also died.
When Ruth chose to go with her mother-in-law to her country, a lot of people must have thought she had lost her mind.
It was as if Ruth knew God had a plan and kept following her mother-in-law who she knows is the road map, the direction to her destination, the guide to her glorious future.
After following God through her mother-in-law, Ruth became the great, great grandmother of Jesus Christ.
There is no how you will trace the genealogy of Jesus Christ without mentioning Ruth.

God has the complete and perfect picture of your future in His hand, all you need to do is trust Him.
Give Him thanks continually

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Hebrews chapter 13:5

In 1 Thessalonians we are told,
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18

Giving thanks to God continually and in all things.

SHALOM! SHALOM! SHALOM!

EL SHADDAI HERITAGE! APRIL 2020 Edition!

You are welcome to the April edition of El Shaddai Heritage!

You have every reason to give thanks to God for keeping you alive in the midst of this pandemic, many have died but here you are still breathing and still standing!
God has indeed done you well.

Psalms 34:19-20
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.”

Nothing takes our God by surprise. When the devil and his agents planned and executed the COVID 19 project, God was fully aware, the interesting thing about this fiasco is that God did not sound a serious warning to His children about what the devil was planning. You could ask the question why? Because this is nothing compared to the power that God has deposited in us.

1 John 4:4
“Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the World”

God has made provision, adequate provision for His children to overtake and overcome every strategy and attack of the devil.

That is why you need to be careful about the choices you make in life.

Proverbs 14:12
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

God is interested in the smallest detail of your life. Your life does not belong to you and you can’t live your life as though it is yours.

1 Corinthians 6:20
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

It’s not all that glitters that is gold.
As a child of God, it’s imperative that you listen for the voice of The Holy Spirit and you follow His directions because He will always speak.
However, if you are not careful and sensitive, pride and self will not allow you to walk or even hear the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 16:18
“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

When you deliberately choose to disobey the leading of The Holy Spirit, you begin to hear the voice of your flesh.

Romans 8:6
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

When you choose to be carnal, you begin to hear the voice of your flesh.

James 1:15
“Then the evil desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death.”

The desire of the flesh often leads to death. Death here often does not mean physical death, it could mean being cut off from your destiny helpers. Destiny helpers are people God has put in your way to assist in moving you away from the place of affliction.
They might not look like it, you might even think you are smarter than them.
Missing a single destiny helper could be a catastrophe because often it’s a chain, one leads to the other but when you feel you are wise in your own eyes and break the chain, you will discover you can’t connect to the next person on the chain because the ladder is broken.
Death here could also mean going in the wrong direction, the truth is if you are schedule for a particular destination and you go the opposite direction, except you make a U-turn, you will never arrive in your divine location. When you keep walking in the wrong direction, every thing is alien to your destiny, they just don’t fit in.

That explains the reason why so many children of God are going through hardship, it’s not because God has abandoned them but because they have refused to walk in the direction prescribed by The Holy Spirit.

The good news is that it’s not too late.
Psalms 136:1-26 states that His mercy endureth forever.

It is only when you walk in the path that God has laid down for you that you can eat the milk and honey of the land you are in.

Isaiah 1:19
“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:”

Psalms 23:1-6 clearly explains our line of thought.

Let the Lord be your shepherd today and you will not lack any good thing.

We shall see you next month at the May edition of El Shaddai Heritage.
