El Shaddai Heritage November, 2021

You are welcome to November 2021 edition of El Shaddai Heritage!!!

The Lord has been good to you, He kept you all through January to November 2021!!! Hallelujah! What a faithful God we serve.

Our focus for November 2021 is Wisdom.

Wisdom can be said to mean knowing the will of God and doing the will of God.

Wisdom can also be defined as obeying the Word of God.

Wisdom can also be defined as following the leading and direction of the Holy Spirit.

God gives us instruction from time to time, God speaks to us through diverse means, God could speak to us through His servants that He had placed over our lives and connected to us as we see in Isaiah 30 verse 21

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

It is wisdom to obey the Word and dictates of God.

In Exodus 23 verse 25 – 27, the Bible says

And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.

I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.”

Here the Lord commands us to do only one thing consequent upon which life will become pleasurable for us.
God asks us to serve Him and He will take care of everything that concerns us from provision to security, to fruitfulness, to prosperity, to divine health…so, with one thing we can get everything we need in life.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
1 John 5:3

Whatever God asks us to do is not beyond our capacity, often at times, what we need is discipline.

The challenge most christians have is because they don’t see an immediate gain, for example someone giving them a pay check as soon as they finish rendering a service to God, so they tend to get discouraged especially when their desire and expectation seem delayed.

In Exodus 23 verse 25 – 27 cited above God says if we serve Him, He will bless our bread and our water, that means He will supply our needs, He will bless the works of our hands.

We will not fall sick, disease and infirmity will be far from us, we will not feel any form of weakness in our bodies.

Furthermore, serving God ensures our fruitfulness. God our master, our employer will ensure we are productive in our bodies and in the work of our hands.

In addition, God will ensure we live to a good old age. He will not allow us to die before the time appointed. God will make sure we live as He designed us to live, He will make sure we see our great grand children to the fourth generation.
Praise The Lord!

Another benefit we stand to gain when we serve the Lord is that He takes over our battles.

When we come to Jesus Christ, we become one with him. He becomes our father, we become His children.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
John 1:12

We become one with Jesus.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20

So, when we become the children of God, our battle becomes the battle of God.

The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
Exodus 14:14

If we examine closely, Exodus 23:25-27 covers practically every aspect of human life.

It is indeed wisdom to obey God’s instruction and His Word.

Praise The Lord!

How do we acquire wisdom?

  1. Fear of God.

The fear of God in this sense does not connote negativity.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10

Fear of God here connotes awe, admiration, honour for God, being careful not to fall from His grace.

  1. Hunger for Wisdom

To acquire wisdom, we need to thirst for it, we need to desire it. It’s not enough to talk about acquiring wisdom, we need to take steps towards getting wisdom.

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

Proverbs 2:3-5

  1. Prayer of Faith

Another way of acquiring wisdom is by praying for wisdom.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

James 1:5-6
When you ask God for wisdom, you need to believe that you will get it and you will surely get it.

  1. The Word Of God.

We are told in 1 Corinthians 1:21- 24 that Jesus Christ is the Wisdom of God.
Jesus is the Word of God. John 1:12.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
2 Corinthians 3:18

Consequently, the more we study the Word of God, the more of Jesus we take in, the more of Jesus Christ we have in our lives, the more wise we become.

Praise The Lord!

I pray that the Lord will give you the grace to acquire more wisdom thereby becoming more like Jesus.

Shalom! Shalom! Shalom!
