You are welcome to the November 2020 edition of El Shaddai Heritage!
Our Spiritual Focus for the month of November 2020 is Wisdom.
Wisdom can be defined as the quality of knowledge acquired.
What does the Word of God tell us about wisdom?
In 1 Corinthians 1:30
“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:“
From the above scripture, we understand that Jesus Christ is the Wisdom of God.
The Wisdom of God encompasses all aspect of human life.
Wisdom is knowing the will of God and doing it.
In John 1:14
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.“
Jesus Christ, the wisdom of God came in human flesh and told us what the will of the father is.
“…not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.“
2 Peter 3:9
How then can we acquire this wisdom?
First of all, we need to accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and saviour.
After, our salvation, we need to seek and pursue the will of the father.
“For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.“
John 6:38
When Jesus Christ was about to ascend to heaven, one of His last Words to His disciples was in:
Mark 15:16
“… Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
The desire of Jesus Christ, the Word of God is to do the will of the father.
In Matthew 6: 33
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.“
Once, you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and saviour, make Jesus your priority, when Jesus Christ becomes your priority, your life, everything about you will reflect the glory of God.
“And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”
John 1:5
The Bible tells us that Jesus is the light of the world.
“I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.“
John 8:12
When the light of God shines in the life of a man, darkness is suspended.
Every form of evil is found in darkness. The devil is the king and lord of darkness, all evil emanate from him.
“Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.“
Proverbs 24:3-4
Once the Holy Spirit takes His abode in a man, he automatically becomes the house of God.
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”
1 Corinthians 6:19
At this stage, the individual no longer owns himself, the Holy Ghost that lives in him directs and leads him.
When a man is yielded to the directive of God, Matthew:6:33 becomes his life style, he begins to reflect the wisdom of God.
“And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.“
Isaiah 33:6
When a man is filled with the wisdom of God, his life becomes stable, everything he lays his hands upon prospers, he has no fear of tomorrow.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Proverbs 1:7
When a man fears the Lord, the grace and strength to resists evil comes upon him. Negativity will be far from him.
“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
Proverbs 4:18
When the wisdom of God is at work in the life of a man, everything he lays his hands upon will prosper, he will keep moving from glory to glory, the favor of God will pave way for him, sickness and disease will be far from him. Failure can’t come close to him. The evil ones will not be able to touch him because he is inside the Wisdom of God, Jesus Christ himself.
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Psalms 16:11
The joy of the Lord will fill his soul and every area of his life, good things of life will compete for his attention.
“The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.“
Joel 1:12
When joy is lacking in the life of a man, everything goes wrong.
Joy is the lubricant that keeps everything working right.
When a man serves the Lord, the Lord ensures that things go on well for him and that everything work out together for his good.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28
As you seek the kingdom of God passionately with the whole of your heart, every good thing in life will compete for your attention, you will know what to do at the right time.
