You are welcome to the May 2020 edition of El Shaddai Heritage!
We give thanks to the father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has kept us despite the arrows that fly by day and the pestilence that walks in darkness.
This month, we are focusing on The Word.
The Bible makes us to understand that Jesus Christ is the Word of God.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
John 1:1-3
We also understand from the scriptures that God has honoured His Word more than His name
“…for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Psalms 138:2
We are also made to understand in Hebrews 4:12 that:
“…the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
The Word of God is available to every human being irrespective of race or colour. The Word of God has been translated to virtually every language/dialect on the earth.
The Word of God can be referred to as the access of God’s children to their inheritance through Christ Jesus.
The Word of God is the link to obtaining the blessings that Jesus Christ already got for us.
The Word of God is the legal ground we stand on to defeat any contrary situation and also to command our desired blessings into our lives.
When a Christian is devoid of the Word of God, there is hardly a difference between him or her and an unbeliever.
For the Word of God to work for us, we needs to study and store up the Word of God in our heart.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15
It is the Word of God we store up in our heart that will rise up to an occasion when needed.
“…but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits”
Daniel 11:32
The above scripture can be interpreted to read, those that know the Word of God shall become strong also do exploits or prevail. Without, the Word of God, we can not rule and reign in this world as God has commanded us.
It is our inheritance as children of God to dominate every situation and circumstances in this world but without the Word of God stored up in our heart we can not achieve this.
In 1 Timothy 4:13 we are encouraged to:
“…give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.”
To do exploits in life, we need to study the Word of God, listen to messages by anointed men and women of God and follow the doctrine of the apostles, thereby strengthening our faith.
In Romans 10:17 we are told that
“…faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Without hearing the Word of God over and over again, it will be difficult for our faith to be strengthened.
My prayer is that The Lord will give us the grace to study His Word the way we ought to in Jesus name.
I pray that The Lord will continue to keep your spirit, soul, and body until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Shalom ! Shalom ! Shalom !
