You are welcome to the August edition of El Shaddai Heritage!
This month we shall be considering Consecration!
Consecration here means setting yourself aside for Jesus.
It means abstaining from things, events, and activities that have the capacity to defile and adulterate your Christian journey. These are events, engagements, associations, and anything that can gradually pull you away from the things of God.
It means living a holy life.
The enemy does not appear physically with two horns on the head and a tail at the back, if he does you will recognize him easily and rebuke him but he comes through ways you can hardly recognize.
He could even come through other Christians or people you respect in faith whose love for Jesus has grown cold.
The enemy is out there busy trying to reduce the love and zeal of Christians for the things of God.
The Bible says in Romans 8:35
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?“
The truth is that the enemy will always give you a reason to reduce and minimize your commitment to the things of God if you allow him.
Consecration also means embracing God with your totality, living your life for God. Loving The Lord with all you have.
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.“
Galatians 2:20
Consecration can also be seen as when the things of this world does not take preeminence over the things of God in your life, that is when the things, the issues of this world are of lesser value to you.
It means you are conscious of your existence here on earth but at the same time heaven, the things of God hold more value to you, you place more importance on the things of God.
The issues of the kingdom of God is of higher preference in your life.
It means you are sold out to Jesus.
“For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.“
Matthew 16:25
The Word of God says in Psalms 24 verse 1 that this world and everything in it belongs to Jesus, when you live your life for Jesus, you gain command of the things of this world.
“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
Philippians 1:21
When you chose to bury your life inside Jesus Christ, you benefit because you will have the same command Jesus had, even more.
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.“
John 14:12
You stand at an advantage when you consecrate yourself to God.
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.“
John 12:24
The truth is that as a child of God until you are truly buried in Jesus Christ, your life can not manifest the glory of God.
“For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.“
Matthew 16:25
When you let go of the things and cares of this world, Jesus Christ will begin to live through you. When Jesus Christ takes over your life, you attain the realm of all things that are possible. Your needs will be supernaturally met.
The enemy will not have access to you.
You will have an unusual thirst for the things of God.
Your children will follow your footstep because you will bring them up in the ways of God, therefore in your old age, you will have peace because The Lord will be in control of their lives.
Praise The Lord!
See you next month at our September edition of El Shaddai.
